IETE Kozhikode
Founded in 1953, The Institution of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers(IETE) is a leading professional society devoted to the
advancement of science & technology of Electronics, Telecommunications & IT.The idea of Professional Activity Centre at Kozhikode was initiated by
Sri.C K Haridas, Founder Chairman of Palakkad Centre when the number of students appearing for the IETE Examination at Palakkad Centre increased
tremendously & became unmanageable.
Sri.C K Haridas with the help of Dr.V B Panicker, who was the then Director of KMCT College of Engineering, Kozhikode,
were successful in enrolling more than the required no of Corporate members within one month time & opened the ProfessionL Activity Centre at KMCT College
of Engineering within 2 months time. Also with the support & cooperation of IETE Head Quarters, the dream of students of North Malabar Exam centre at
Kozhikode came true in June 2010. With the continued efforts of Sri.C K Haridas and Dr.V B Panicker the sub-centre at Kozhikode was opened on 5th January
2012. The Sub-centre started functioning at a rented premises within the Calicut City limit at Nadakkavu Junction.
Since its birth, IETE Kozhikode Sub Centre was always committed to uplift the society by empowering youth with technical skills and knowledge by organising
various workshops, seminars, skill development programs, technical lectures and quizzes, industrial visits & lot more. IETE Kozhikode Subcentre have bagged
the "Best Sub Centre Award" multiple times under the excellent guidance of Prof. Pratap G Nair. Within a short span of 10 years time since its formation,
IETE Kozhikode Sub Centre has seen huge success in improving the academic as well as technical skills of poor students by providing them with the best
available technical trainings and workshops within affordable rates.
